Third Wave

The first wave was local force Viet Cong.

Then came tanks.

Now the third wave of regular North Vietnamese Army troops attacks.

The NVA push past the supply carriers.

There seems to be nothing to stop them.

It appears the battle is won.

More tanks enter the fray and swing wide to envelop the town.

A human wave of troops.

Here I have mixed in the old Esci, now Italeri, North Vietnamese Soldiers and Vietcong too.

They fit in perfectly with the new figures.

I was pleased that they work well together.

Signage

This is my Vietnam War set up that's been running for a couple days.

I translated a few phrases like restaurant, and hotel, into Vietnamese.

This restickable glue stick makes any piece of paper into a Post-It note.  So it can be stuck onto a model and then taken off without any residue or trouble.

I printed out a bunch of them, and then trimmed them with scissors.

I had a bunch of little buildings with painted signs on them.

I covered them with the new signs for this game.  Western style building are found all over the world for the last 200 years or more.  This is particularly true in nations that were colonized by European nations and more so in the cities.
 

Massed Tanks

Poorly trained troops, including me who only carried grenades.

Stiffened by their numbers and the tanks.

Massive and seemingly impervious.

Tanks drive slowly to avoid out running the troops.

The troops keep enemy bazooka teams away.

 Massed numbers.

Major Offensive

The bunker is unoccupied.

In the face of such an onslaught the defenders just melted away.

The town appears open.

The VC penetrate deeply into the city.

And now tanks!

Medium T54 tanks, this is a major offensive.
 

VC Attack Provincial Capital

VC attack a small provincial capital.

They appear at the edge of town and charge right down the main street.

In broad daylight!

The Western style buildings indicate this is a big town.

The rear of the column brings up more ammo.

The only real defenses are a single bunker a couple blocks inside the town.

I have been trying to get some of these Series 2, Airfix, WWII British Infantry figures for a while now for a couple special projects I am working on, but they are very hard to find.

These should be enough to make a good stab at those projects, which of course, you will see here.

  A few handy Infantry Combat Group troops too that will be put to good use as well.

MPC Ring Hand Army Figures

MPC 60mm army figures.

These accessories are from Marx and MPC.  A recent online purchase.

Marx made accessories to increase the parts count in their toy sets, but never made ring hand figures.

They are my favorite figures of all time, in any scale.
 

In Country

 The new M16 rifle is quick and handy.

The shotgun is great at close range.

As Special Forces we get the newest equipment and we get to carry whatever we want.

M16 is very popular, keep it clean and it works great.

Don't bunch up.

One man steps on a mine he kills his buddy if they are too close.
