WWII German Cossack Troops
In World War Two many people who had been conquered by the Russian Czar or by the Communists took the opportunity to rise up against their oppressors. This is one such unit. It is Orthodox Christian Cossacks.
To make these figures, I took several different sets of Strelets Cossacks and modified their weapons to make them more WWII. I gave them a wide variety of troop types including infantry, artillery, commanders, medical, horse cavalry, of course, and a group of an Orthodox Bishop, priests, nun and others.
The Germans were so short of manpower that their armies included vast numbers of people who looked nothing like the solders often depicted in movies. Do a little research and you can find all sorts of strange units to fight in your WWII armies.
