Old Vans
In the 1950's and even later, civil defense in the USA was a big deal. The Soviet Union only had a few nuclear weapons and many could not reach the Continental United States. This is an AHM panel truck model in HO 1/87 scale. It is a new model and comes fulled assembled, painted and decaled.
Trucks like this were for urban search and rescue in the event of an emergency. They could carry heavy tools like crow bars, sledge hammers, and breaker bars to help rescue people from rubble after an attack or natural disaster.
This is the same type of truck, also in HO scale from AHM. The police used to perform many duties now often considered part of the fire department, rescue and casualty evacuation.
Of course, a van like this can simply be a prisoner transport or can provide supplies and gear for accident investigation, riots or disasters. I like having civilian vehicles to back up my armies. These two vehicles will serve alongside my Korean War Imex figures in those attack of the giant creature or UFO space aliens from the 1950's wargame scenarios.
