Arctic Defense Headquarters

The troops have set up a perimeter and got the rockets ready for firing.

Northern Greenland, Canada, and Alaska are essential locations for missile defense against communist aggression. 

Units like this are operating all over the Arctic Circle to guard the homeland.

The blue uniforms are a special camouflage to help blend in with the snow and the open water.

Rockets Deploy

After a few troops in the weasel perform a reconnaissance the infantry move in riding trucks and Jeeps.

Radio communication is essential.

The troops move forward and spread out.

Troops move forward and deploy on line.

Tracked rocket launchers now drive along the road parallel to the parked trucks.

The first tracked launcher deployed their missile launcher on the ground and prepared it before the remainder of the rocket launchers arrived.

The subsequent tracked rocket launchers deployed their rocket firing platforms.

Specialized troops in white protective uniforms ready the rockets for firing.
 

MPC Metallic Blue Figures

When I get snow, I always like to take my 60mm figures out and play in the snow.  Growing up in Southern California I did not get to play in snow until I moved to Kentucky after I retired. It only snows a few days a year so I have to act fast.  This year it snowed rather a lot and so I had a little more time to do a set up.

These tall, thin 60mm figures were made by MPC decades ago.  I have these metallic blue ones, also green figures that are also 50 - 60 years old; and a 100 or so recast light green ones too.
 

Gorilla Glue

This King Tut figure has had a robe created by wrapping him out of blue tape.  I coated it with super glue and that stiffened the tape, making it stronger and stiffer.

I coated it using this Gorilla Glue product that I never heard of before.

It is Gorilla Super Glue Brush & Nozzle.

It is a super glue that can be brushed on with a paint brush type brush that is part of the cap.

I used this brush to coat the blue tape with super glue.  It was very easy and I have used it on six different figures, painting blue tape to strengthen it and stiffen it.  Super glue does this with items as different as tape and even Kleenex tissues, making them much stronger.  After it dried I used the Testors model putty to fill in a few gaps.
 

King Tut, Mostly

Pinky Pinkston.  She is friends with Bruce Wayne and Britt Reed.  She gets kidnapped by COL Gumm.  Still working on her here.

MR Freeze and his twelve henchmen.  They are generic plastic figures with head from Matchbox WWII British Commandos to get the watch caps.

King Tut in the blue in the upper left.

He started as Mojo, a vile and disgusting character from Battle Dice.

I removed him from his walking base, glued him to the legs of a Heroclix figure and wrapped him with blue tape.  I made a flail and shepherds crook, the symbols of upper and lower Egypt.

The silver part of the original Mojo figure is a separate piece from the yellow body part.

I used Testors putty to fill in the gaps in the tape.

Good stuff, works well.

Directions, sold at most hobby shops in the model section.

Testors is now Rust-Oleum.

Here he is put together.  I used a secret product to make the blue tape strong and firm.
