Army Automobile Arrives

An Army automobile arrives, leading a City Militia Artillery gun.
The cops fire a few tentative rounds.
The soldier arrives in his automobile.
The monster has stopped his advance in the face of the revolver fire and the noise of the automobile.
The steam tractor drops off the 75mm gun and the well drilled militia prepare to fire their piece.
The pride of the city is their steam powered tractor artillery battery.
It's only one gun, but muzzle loading and as fast firing as a 4 gun battery of muzzle loaders!

October 31, 1898

Who called the cops?
Police van and an officer respond to a phone call of a disturbance.
The disturbance looks around the corner!
More cops show up and talk to the neighbors.
They move to confront the beast, revolvers at the ready.
He seems unimpressed!

Quick Shine

Interwar period truck, painted as a civilian version.  Truck is HO scale.
I decided I wanted to see if it could be more glossy, several people had suggested this so I am giving it a try.
I elected to use the dip method, so I poured a bunch in this plastic food container.
Dump it in, take it out, let it dry.  Worked perfectly, used the funnel to get the Quick Shine back into the bottle and then rinsed out the plastic container with water.  Truck was already painted with a gloss paint, but this made it a little more shiny, and I expect to try it with a flat painted vehicle soon.
I think I have touched up this thing about 5 times.  Every time I paint a piece, I manage to overpaint a part that was already good!
I used this gray for the gray parts as it seems to match the Rust-Oleum spray paint pretty well.
Hey, you kids, get off my lawn.  A white tail deer makes a visit in my yard while I am painting.

Have You Seen This Radar Dish?

My plan is to mount these plastic 155mm guns on Panama mounts and use them as 1930's and 1940's US Army Coast Artillery guns.
Shown here with 1/72nd scale HaT US 75mm gun artillery crews.
Have you seen this radar dish?
It used to come on a cheapo plastic truck, years ago.
I got a few by mail order for $1 each a long time ago, maybe 20 year ago?
Naturally I had little use for them at the time so I only got a few.
1/72nd scale figure for size.  Now, I need a few more, so I am hoping to find more of them.  If you have a few spare ones, or know of a source for them, send me an email please. bunkermeister45@aol.com

Blue and Gray Artillery

Marx made a 155mm Long Tom gun decades ago and included it in a number of their playsets.
Strangely the model was about 1/72nd scale, maybe even HO and yet was included in many of their 54mm / 1/32nd scale boxed army men sets.
A similar model has been made by a number of different cheap toy soldier companies.
This gray and blue pair were in an American Civil War set with spoked wagon wheels.
I got them courtesy of Billy Hill, thanks Billy!

Amazon Boats

I got these little boats on Amazon.
They are one piece resin and pre-painted.
They were very inexpensive.
Very common in Asian countries.  1/72nd scale figure.
Maybe some James Bond You Only Live Twice pearl divers.
Maybe a sampan full of grenades for the VC.
Or maybe garden decor at a major hotel.

Small Bridge

Dollar General bridge.
They were having a sale on this stuff, up to 50% off.
It's a nice little generic bridge.
Look good in a Japanese garden or in a hotel garden.
Here with a couple trees.
Maybe with a little boat.  1/72nd scale figures.

Jonny Quest and Skrull Update

Battle Dice Doctor Xavier donated his head to Doctor Zinn.  I cut his wheelchair off the base and his body off the wheelchair top.
The wheelchair is in good shape and it will become a transport for Captain Pike.
I always keep little bits like this because they are often useful for other conversions.
The figure has a nice upper body and I am sure it will find a good home.
I have been using fake lego for some building projects recently.
I got some flat pieces and I am trying them out.
They fit well.
They seem a good size for sidewalk pavers.
I like them.
Scrull transports are finished.  Note the new door installed on the one on the right.
Scrulls are shape shifters and can shift into a winged version that can fly.
