Matchbox 2016 Ford Interceptor.Matchbox County Police. In the USA each state is divided into counties that have their own elected officials, which include an elected Sheriff, and his deputies, they are police and also run a county jail. The county jail accepts prisoners from any police agency in the county that makes an arrest, many small towns don't have a jail or don't keep prisoners for more than a few days or even a few hours. But some counties also have police, separate from the Sheriff's office. They usually have a specific police function, such as patrol county property like parks and county buildings.Matchbox has made this same vehicle in generic police markings. Most police agencies in the US mark their vehicles with the word POLICE in large letters and the name of the city or other agency they represent. Here the the two vehicles together.I will probably not change these markings but I may add to them to indicate a specific agency name, maybe on the back.Same markings by Matchbox but on two different vehicle types.I like that consistancy.

The generic deco with the blue POLICE lettering would be a Traffic Enforcement Unit vehicle, same as the Ford Police Interceptor Sedan which was first released over a decade ago from a Mission Force police five pack. Matchbox re-released both Ford Police Interceptors from a 2024 five-pack release as well as an eight-pack exclusive '15 Ram 1500, all with the same generic Matchbox Police deco that was released earlier this year! The Ram 1500 would be better used for Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, since the Ram is a police pickup.
Thanks for the comment Jimmy, very interesting. I love how they keep re-releasing stuff and still give us new vehicles.
I agree! There's one new police car that has been released this year so far which is the '23 Dodge Charger Pursuit! It also has a throwback Matchbox Police deco in all black with white POLICE lettering.
Nice, I like either black and white or New York City type markings.
Same! I do have a good amount of 2016 Ford Police Interceptor Utility SUVs with the NYPD deco as well as a special edition Frontline Heroes generic black & white '16 Ford Police Interceptor Utility back in 2020 during the pandemic. Both are amazing! I do prefer the all white '16 FPIU with the light blue POLICE lettering as a traffic unit to go along with the Matchbox Action Drivers Police Traffic Center from 2024!
I am working on an "American Cities" project that includes at least a few representative buildings and their police, including a few fictional cities. Los Angles, South Pasadena, New York, Washington, D.C. Gettysburg, and Grover's Mill.
That's pretty cool! Recently, Matchbox released a newer '23 FPIU from the San Diego Police earlier this year. I've also seen some custom Matchbox police cars from the real world, like Washington D.C. that are being sold on eBay.
I am gathering my police forces with the intent to strip paint and repaint them as necessary. Probably next year, as I am almost stocked up on police cars but need just a few more!
