Brown and Olive Drab

The wheels on this kind of real vehicle would have been jacked up so they could use tracks cross country and then jacked down to run fast on roads.  An interesting concept but too complicated to be worthwhile.  Several countries tired it but nobody fielded any significant number of vehicles with that system.
This vehicle looks to me like it was restored.  There is a cottage industry of people making the original style tires and original color paint for these old models.  The axles look brand new too.  Still it's getting the paint stripped and wheels replaced.
These toys are made by a process called slush cast.  They are hollow cast metal, I think zinc, but I am not sure.  Very thin metal, but really strong.  Sometimes they come with casting errors, not the best quality control.
Sometimes they are found in this nice olive drab color.  I suspect these were made closer to WWII but I don't know that for sure.  You don't find many in this color compared to the brown.
Mine will look more like this only with new wheels.
