Mars 1/72nd scale German Night Hunters, WWII troops.
Late in World War Two the Germans fielded several new high technology weapons systems.
Several of these men carry the Vampire night vision system. It is an infrared scope mounted on an assault rifle along with an infrared sight. It enabled them troops to see and fire at targets in pitch black. It gave them a huge advantage, but too little too late.
They guy on the left has the Vampire. The center man has a Luftfaust. It is a group of small rockets that are fired into the air at low flying jets. The are reloaded with a sort of speed loader. A cluster of rockets that are all reloaded at the same time, so turn around time is quick. A low flying aircraft is not going to continue firing machine guns in the face of six ripple fired rockets and will likely break off the attack rather than risk getting hit.
The Luftfaust was actually deployed in the Battle of Berlin but I have not found any reports about it's actual abilitly to shoot down planes.
