Tigers
The first Tiger 1 tanks were on the Elephant chassis, or what became the Elephant chassis.
But Porsche lost the contract for a heavy tank and the new chassis became the production version.
This Panther has the 150mm gun, for bunker busting and infantry support.
I got this in a used collection in bad shape. I added the weapons and accessories and made it into a rather good Tiger II armored recovery vehicle.
None were ever made, the Panther was lighter and used the same engine so this would have been a poor choice. Still, it's a better tow truck than a tank, it could hold a large winch, and if a Tiger II had not turret due to enemy action, it would be a reasonable field conversion.
