The American Home Guard
When the National Guard gets called to Federal service in an emergency, who is left to fight fires, repel invasion or quell a riot? Sometimes, nobody!
During WWI and later WWII many states formed a State Militia to replace the National Guard.
I am always looking for new units to build and these are an interesting mix of old and new gear.
This is a well written book and I highly recommend it. It does not have photos of units or much about their vehicles, but I is a great start for building wargame units of American Militia. It's also and excellent overview of how these units were formed and why we still need them.
