National Guard in the Snow

The command post was a single M59 APC and a van 2/12 ton truck.

The troops moved into town overnight and it snowed about three feet.

Everyone was told to hunker down and wait for dawn.

Don't move around until they get here.

Some men took positions on rooftops.  Good observation but hard to retreat from.

But as a National Guard unit, this was home for most, so there was no retreat.
