Lift Off

 A race between the robot and the beasts!

The robot makes it to the rocketship.

The men are ready to fire in case the snow monsters rush us.

But they keep their distance as the rocketship begins to liftoff.

The monsters stand and stare at the rocket as it leaves this snowball.
 

Robot and Snow Monster

Robot approaches the drone.

Snow monster!

The heavy robot can easily lift the drone.

But the snow beast approaches the drone.

The infantry deploys.

But more snow monsters appear also!
 

Drone and Rocket

Something in the snow.

It is a reconnaissance drone.

A transport ship arrives to recover the drone.

A safe and vertical landing.

The men deploy from the rocketship.

They bring a robot with them.
 

Infantry Deploys

The snow beasts close on the robot.

More of them appear!

They are not fast, but light on the snow.

The infantry deploy around the spaceship and mostly towards the snow beasts.

The robot picked up the drone.

And slowly the robot moves towards the rocketship.
 

Luna, Arc, or Mir?

Pegasus Luna from Destination Moon.  This scene, however is more like that from When Worlds Collide.

The Arc, a similar space ship to Luna, and one Pegasus also makes, lands on a new planet, and on the landing space it's covered in snow.

This model is supposed to be 1/144 scale, but I think it works just fine for 1/72 scale adventure gaming.

It's larger than a V2.

Rocketship X-M

Rocketship X-M is an exciting movie that I watched over and over as a kid.  A rocket to the moon goes off course and lands on Mars instead.   I think this movie is one reason I like the MPC ring hand figures so much, the remind me of the crew in this rocketship.

This is another in the long series of rockets by Pegasus Hobbies.

On my way out of California I stopped at Pegasus and hoovered up a big order of items, including most of their rocketship models.  Larry gave me a good deal on them since I got so many all at once.

While the scale is supposed to be 1/144 scale, I intend to use them with my 1/72nd scale figures, sound familiar by now?  The ship is about the same size as a 1/72nd scale V-2 missile.

The "glass" portholes are made in a unique way that allows the builder to install several at one time and avoid getting glue on the windows.  I really like this model and being simple it really cries out for an armada of them!

Cosmostrator

The movie, First Spaceship on Venus, has appeared in several versions, but always includes the star of the movie, the spaceship, Cosmostrator.

Pegasus Hobbies makes this neat model of the interesting space ship.

The box says it's 1/350 scale, but the central rocket is about the size of a 1/72nd scale V2 missile.

Parts are flash free gray plastic.

I plan to use mine with some 1/72nd scale spacemen I am working on making.

The Luna Rocketship

Destination Moon is a 1950 science fiction movie about the first rocketship to the moon, the Luna.

 The Luna appeared in other later movies,because the design was just too cool.

This simple Pegasus Hobbies kit is 1/44 scale, but the central body is larger than a 1/72nd scale V-2 Missile.

I intend to use it for 1/72nd scale space adventures.

It's a simple, flash free kit in gray plastic.

It also includes a nice Moon scape base.
