Frozen Lizard

Two of my favorite movies are Beast from 20,000 Fathoms and The Thing from Another World, 1951.

So it just seemed right that at least one lizard needed to be frozen in a block of ice.

The sled dogs don't seem happy.

Even the two scientists are a little stand offish.  They came with different Matchbox vehicles.

I think we are going to need a bigger sled.

I used two votive candle holders placed together to simulate the ice.  They look like shot glasses.
 

Lizard Toy

Creepy Animals plastic lizard.

I got it at the dollar store.

It has a nice paint job I think.

I only want one, that's enough.

In the movie Killers from Space the aliens are growing giant monster size lizards with the intent of using them to conquer the world.

For a cheap toy the model stands well and the tail looks good.

It has a nice open mouth.

The bottom is pretty good too.
 

Roger Corman and Irwin Allen

Got this bad boy at Dollar General.

They make dinosaurs, bugs, and lizards, all for about a dollar or so.  Dollar General was founded in Scottsville, Kentucky, at one time it was a Dollar Store, but now sells items in many price ranges.

This lizard is from China.

An interloper!

Just like a cheap science fiction or cave man movie!

He's a pretty big lizard in 1/72n scale.  He likely will turn up again in a science fiction or cave man scenario!
 

Another Surprise

The men are stunned, a pre-historic Dimetrodon!

Then, just as the shock begins to wear off...

A giant lizard appears on the other side of the trail!

To two monsters seem to be interested in each other, and not interested in the puny humans.

The two behemoths close.

Japanese Junk

My friend Billy Hill sent me these figures.

They are WWII Japanese clones of 1/32nd scale Airfix figures, but in 1/72nd scale.

They are cheapo dollar store type figures, mis-molded, and filled with flash.

So every day after dinner I spend a few minutes and trimmed flash off of at least one.

There are more than just these few, I did one pose at a time.  After trimming the same pose a couple times I learned the best techniques to remove the flash and adjust the mis-molding.  It makes doing the rest of them that much faster.

Give him a good look over.  I can take him, maybe.
