Skrull APC

Testors model putty, an old standby that I have used for decades.
This is an toy from the Disney movie Atlantis.  I broke off the whale tale and now use it as a ground vehicle instead of a submarine.
Filled the hole with the Testors Putty, and I repainted the whole thing magenta from Rust-Oleum.  I also made a little hatch for the rear.
I will use it with my Scrull Army.  They are a Fantastic Four enemy that rules a large space empire.  Years ago I purchased a whole bunch of cheapo Hero Clix figures from the bargain bin at several comic shops.  I get every Scrull figure and anyone else with pointy ears or a similar color palate.

Then they got pulled off their Hero Clix bases and put on small rectangular bases.  I did various touch up or repaints on them and eneded up with over 100 figures.  Not a big army, but at 28mm they dwarf a tall 1/72nd scale figure.  This is their APC now.

Skrulls Attack A Small Town USA

It's 1956 and the Skrulls have landed a small reconnaissance party in a small town in the Midwest.
A local National Guard unit was drill and quickly loaded up with ammo and responded, after a quick call to the Governor.
They caught the Skrulls just as they entered the town square.
The Skrulls always thought they were good troops, but mostly because their enemies were such poor opponents.
The American tank / infantry team on their own home ground is almost unbeatable.
These troops are not just fighting for planet Earth, they are fighting for their own home town.

Skrulls

These cannons are actually pencil sharpeners that I got at a gift shop.

Weapons are found everywhere.

Skrulls include a variety of different figures.

Kree, enemies of the Skrull empire.

A small unit of them but enough to be trouble.

Platform

Flying platform.

Special pilots are needed to fly them.

Fast, quiet and small they are perfect for recon or to move small numbers of troops.

In this case they provide a nice overview of the parade.

Best seat in the house.

Skrulls

A friend of mine made a flag based on one from a Fantastic Four episode.

Bring it up in Paint, flip it and copy it and then fold it over a bit of wire.  Then glue the two halves together with white glue.  Essentially free flag.

There are a number of enemies of the Skrulls.

While I don't want to play Skrull wars as such, they could come in handy as allies of the humans.

Two important humans watch as the Skrull army passes in review.

These two submarines from Atlantis make good Skrull vehicles.

Skrulls

Skrull heavy weapons on parade.

Skrull army on the march.

Scores of them.

With modern weapons.

And a variety of troops.

Vast numbers.

Skrulls oppose a number of other beings, but sometimes creates a truce and sometimes teams with others for a limited time.

Skrull Army

My Skrull Army on parade with other local races present.

While the majority of the figures are 28mm I use them as 1/72nd scale.

The Skrull flag is from a Fantastic Four episode.

I have painted the figures to look more uniform.

I painted figures from many different types of Heroclix as long as they are roughly similar in body style and have pointy ears.

Skrull Army

I took some juice bottle lids and mounted them on bases for model airplanes.

Instant flying platforms.

Here you can see the underside.

One of the many innovations of the Skrull Army.
