Formula I Cars

As part of my American and European cities project I am doing auto racing.

I particularly like drag racing, stock car racing, figure 8 racing, Indy racing and Formula I racing.

This is a very nice set. all the cars are essentially identical but the paint jobs.

The big draw on this is the cars are painted extremely well.

Nice graphics.

Lots of colors.

Nice fine markings.

Very good models.

The bottom is interesting too.
 

Race Cars Racing

Formula 1 racing often takes place on city streets that have been blocked off.

So here they roar past a train station.

The pack is pretty full here.

These cars are so loud that having these things racing by your doors is mind numbing!
 

Another Formula 1 Car

This Hot Wheels car seems to be a peg warmer.  It shows up at most stores in large numbers.

I have picked up a bunch of them and will likely repaint a few of them.

Racing teams often have more than one identical car in case they crash one or the engine blows up.

It's a good looking car but graphics are meh.

Needs a little detail painting on the back.

A nice looking car.

The clever use of the different parts to stick through one another to get use out of the different colors.

It has a driver which is nice.

Underside is bland.
 

Formula One

Hot Wheels and other companies have been making Formula 1 cars a lot recently.

I have been to Formula 1 races a few times in Long Beach, CA.

It's very exciting to see these cars drive very fast on city streets.

This Hot Wheels car is very well made.

The markings are nicely done.

It is amazing how well vehicle markings are now these days.

This car looks very good in black.

I have been gathering Airfix figures for use as pit crews.

Not much under carriage detail.

But they have a driver which is nice.

Formula 1

 A second version of Arrow Dynamic.

It's a very nice race car, but sadly no driver figure.

No explanation why here.

I also got it in this other color a short while ago.  It's nice they are doing cars with different wheels and colors at the same time so you can get a little variety for cars like this that might benefit from having multiples.

This is another Formula 1 race cart.

Maisto is a brand that has been around a long time but I don't buy much from them.

Mostly I have police cars and a few others.

This is nice race car and as you can see I got two of them.

So when combined with some of my older cars I now have a reasonable number of Formula 1 cars for a decent race.  I doubt they all served together, but I am pretty flexible about that.
 

Arrow Dynamic

Race car by Hot Wheels.

Hot Wheels has released at least a dozen variations on this car.

It is part of my Formula 1 racing series.

It's a very good model but sadly no driver.

My plan is to add drivers to most of them.

I also intend to repaint the majority of them.

Race cars often function in teams and so often have the same paint schemes as those on the same team.

I will also need to add numbers.

Here are all my red ones.

So, maybe keep three or four in red and paint the others.
