Hotel Rooms

Here I used an insert from a candy box as the checkerboard wall, and a curtain ad for the stage curtains.  The clear box will likely become an elevator, with the white lid with a line painted down the middle as the break in the doors.
Here I am doing a tiki theme hotel lobby.
Here is a circus themed hotel room.  Gambling tables and a bar.
Another bar and large planter.
Note the large stone head on the side, the light color circles on it are light coming in from the holes in the box.

Hotel Rooms

These are some of my mock up hotel rooms.  This is just a few random items to see the sizes inside the box.
These fancy small stages are actually Barbie cakes from a Barbie set.  They stack nicely and work well as a small stage for a fashion show or as tables with a fancy table cloth.
Here I have mocked up a few rooms with walls and a central hallway.  Obviously in the mock up the wall are not affixed like they would be in an actual set up.
Here the serving tray has been flipped to serve as a stage, and the room has been set up as a fancy nightclub.
The bowl contains items for trash cans and decorative flower pots.  The large planter and giant leaf are trying on for size.

Furniture

Dollar Tree sold a small plastic play house with tiny furniture in it.
The houses came in two versions but all the furniture was the same.  The large pink thing is a serving tray from another Dollar Tree set.
I am using the furniture for my hotel project.  This is a television on an entertainment center.
I have also cut one of the TVs to give me more variety.
Here is the cut apart TV, it makes the lower part into a stand alone table.
Stand along table.
The TV can be used as a table also.
Not every room needs a television, and in recent times a flat screen could be the TV.  In the 1940s or 1950's even into the 1960's a television is not always standard TV fare.

Chinese Casino

I had my daughter create a group of wallpaper patterns for me.  The pattern is a very common one, but each one has a different color for the background or pattern.
I am using the wallpaper to make hotel rooms, casinos, and other public spaces.  These are built inside little plastic crates designed to store blu-rays and similar items.
This is part of several different projects.  American cities, Las Vegas, Chinatown, Elvis, James Bond, and Super Heroes.
Here I have decorated a Chinese themed casino.  The wallpaper is gold on red.
The "carpet" is a print out of an Asian style dragon.
The walls are Chinese style artworks.
The Pekinese dogs are from a Dollar Tree set of dogs that are mostly about 1/32nd scale.
The figures are cheap generic civilian figures sold all over the Internet.  They have been given bases and repainted.  I paint different bases to indicate special groups.  So brown is just regular civilians.
I copied pictures of casino games and printed them out in tiny size to fit these 1/72nd scale figures.  I glued them to plastic and made plastic tables.

Cargo Truck

This Hiway Hauler 2 is a very useful truck.
It has a modern look but is generic enough that it could even be something from the 1930s.
The specific truck is race parts and I will use at least one of them for my auto racing collection.
The wheels are also pretty generic too.
The big box back is helpful too.  It can easily be swapped out for other rear ends and would be useful on other trucks too.
I am thinking of using some for newspaper delivery trucks.
Clark Kent, Peter Parker, Britt Reid worked for newspapers and having newspaper trucks might come in handy for scenarios in Metropolis, or Metropolitan City.
I got at least four of these, so far.

Super Glue Gel

Recently I have been building filament printed 3D models.  I find this glue works well on them.
This particular package seems to provide the best way to squeeze the most super glue out of the tube.  It also has a great lid.  I have used three of these and have never had the whole tube harden like I have had with those little, tine metal tubes.  And I have never had the tip of the applicator clog up either.

This is expensive and there are a couple different versions with different colored applicators.  They are both gel type glues.  They come in a blue and silver or a black and silver bottle I have not noticed a difference.  These glues cost vary wildly from store to store so shop around.

I found that I use more glue on these 3D printed models than I would use on other applications.  The individual amounts of glue I squeeze on any give part is larger than normal.

Black Widow Mobile

Monster High Ghoul Mobile by Hot Wheels.
New car for my collection.
I think it will end up as a vehicle from Black Widow.
The arch villainess of Batman 66.
In the TV show she rode in the sidecar with a motorcycle piloted by one of her henchmen.
I think instead she should have a car with a driver.
Black car with pink spider web motif seems perfect for her.
I may put a red hourglass decal on it someplace, maybe on the hood.
The underside.
Very nice car for the purpose I think.

STZ-3 Tractor

The STZ tractor made in the Soviet Union in the mid-1930s.  This is a 3d printed HO scale model
They were agricultural tractors but due to the war situation hundreds were shipped off to the front.
The 122mm D30 howitzer was often towed by this tractor.
These are 3D printed models that are sold by Fidelis Models under the name "Filament Fighters."
Enclosed cabs were necessary due to the extreme cold in the Soviet Union.
Many of these were captured by the Germans early in the war and pressed into service with their forces.
