The officer has a pistol and a long gun on his shoulder.

And he is waving.

Seen here with the 60mm Tim Mee guy, they are both rather thick and about the same size.

Iwo Jima

Recently I picked up a few new sets of 54 / 60 mm army men from Victory Buy.

These guys are from the Iwo Jima playset but are sold separately.

Nice package is just a header card and a clear plastic bag.

First figure is the radioman.  He has a huge whip antenna, and a rifle over his shoulder.

He is on the handset.

Here he is compared to the old Tim Mee radioman, pretty similar actually.

Robots vs Bugs

The horse monsters of Celeste 12 put up a great fight.

There were fast and had razor sharp leg talons.

And despite their alliance with the ape people, they were destroyed.

The robot civilization of star system 1101 used robots and advanced technology.

Their controllers fought the robots in close combat.

Their robots were nearly indestructible. 

But nearly is not completely and they were destroyed by the bugs.

The Bugs Attack

The bugs have conquered many worlds.

But not every conquest was easy.

Some of the most intelligent races were able to resist for a time.

But the result was always the same, resistance was futile.

But the most advanced and the most primitive tried resistance.

Bugs Versus Aliens

The arachnid menace.

Humans are attacked by the bugs.

And in most cases, the humans don't do well.

But the crafty bugs have landed on other worlds.

And the ever hungry arachnids will eat other forms of life also.

Chasing them down.

And then chowing down on them.

Bugs Versus Citizens

Before the troops arrived, the citizens were attacked by the bugs.

They fought back as best as they could.

Crowbar....

Baseball bats...

Rolling pins...

Even bare fists....

But mostly, all they could do was run.

All Is Ready

The tanks are ready.

The bugs are ready.

The blue bugs are ready.

The strong point is ready.

Who knows what will happen?

Strong Point and Observation Post

A major building in town.

The infantry are setting up a major strongpoint.

Machine guns on the roof and more troops.  The bugs have noticed!

The bugs have set up an observation post on the roof of a nearby building.

Can they communicate well enough to direct the attack?
