Dinosaur Photo Box

Photo box showing two ancient creatures, a pterodactyl, and a T-Rex I think.

Nice scene with a volcano in the background and river in the foreground.

I added a few dollar store dinosaurs to the scene.  On the white floor it does not look that good.

I added a bit of carpet and it improves the photo a lot.

These kinds of boxes with a photo inside are something I have done for a long time.

My dinosaur does not like the paper dinosaur.

 They give one another the side eye.

Imperial Godzilla

This is the Imperial Toys Godzilla monster from about 1965.

He is 13 inches tall.

And 14 inches long.  He has arms and legs that move but not the head, jaws, or tail, which is fine.

The paint job is pretty good for a 60 year old toy.

I want a Godzilla figure, of the 1954 Godzilla, that is comparable to this one.  Minimal articulation, and at least 24 inches tall.  Figure companies keep making more and more Godzilla figures but they are often ridiculous, have multiple parts, multiple heads, alternate hands, all of which runs up the price and provides rather limited value, in my opinion.

We need a 24 inch tall 1954 Godzilla that costs less than $250 dollars, is strong, reasonably detailed, and has good play value.  I am waiting for one that will fill the last major hole in my collection of movie monsters.
 

3D Printing

Another woman from the French Exodus set, 3D printed.

This woman would work in South American.

Italy.

Greece.

Spain.

Almost anywhere in the last 100 years or more where Western culture has been the norm.

Here they are fleeing from the Germans.

It really enhances the story when the invader, Martians, Godzilla, Germans, Russians, Americans almost anything that might make people flee.

3D Printed Little Boy

Another figure from the French Exodus set.

1/72nd scale 3D printed.

This little boy is not unlike the other figures as he would work well for several centuries of figures.

And for almost anywhere in Western Europe or North America.

The detail is amazing to me.

These figures are well suited to dioramas, set ups, and miniature wargames, or role playing games.

While these figures depict people fleeing from the WWII German blitzkrieg in France they have many uses.

Sadly wars all over the world have left children in conditions of refugee and in despair.

These figures should be released soon, stay tuned for more details.
 

3D Printed French Exodus

This is a new line of figures that is not quite yet available in stores.

These depict French civilians fleeing from the German invasion of 1940.

These are 1/72nd scale 3D printed figures.

They come without bases to give the model builder maximum flexibility in how to display them.

Mine are used for set ups and miniature games so they need a simple plastic base.

Note the realistic pose and the fine detail.

Figures like these would work almost anywhere in the world for the last 200 years or so, their clothing and poses are timeless.

As you see these are not standard figures, they reflect real poses, real body types.

Put this woman in France in 1940, or 1918, or 1814 and she looks right at home.

She would work in the Mexican Revolution, or in a Godzilla attack.

Woman are few in our hobby and this range has many of them on the way, and many men too!
 

Arctic Box

I have been buying diorama bases from Amazon.

They often come with little animals and accessories.

This one just came with the photos, but I had animals and accessories from other sets.

I assume they are intended for kids school projects.

But they make a nice background for set ups.

Or the set up could be a good setting for a role playing adventure, or even a skirmish wargame.
 

Bases For Everyone

I got a few 3D printed figures recently that did not have a base on them.

So I took my trusty Evergreen Scale Models 4504 1/6 square .040" think sheet styrene and made bases.

When using your Loctite adhesive in the fancy applicator and it's empty, open the bottom of the container and finish the tube.  This is the power flex which seems to work very well on plastic.

Scruff up the base and the bottom of the figures feet and use a pliers to hold the figures if necessary.  No teeth on these pliers.

Create a few lumps of clay.

Put a dab of glue on each foot, and place the figure on the base.  Use the lump of clay to hold them in place for a little while until dry.
