Monumental Achievement

World War Two German marble sculpture with 1/72nd scale German troops.

Brass sculpture and 1/72nd scale troops.

Brand new copper sculpture.

American soldier monument in bronze.

Bazooka in marble.

Copper US Army soldier.  These will look great at the entrance to military bases, in parks, in front of public buildings.  Used a piece of scrap sheet plastic, glued a rock from my yard, and a little flocking material.  Instant monument.

Old 1/72nd Scale Plastic Figures

Unlike the previous items, I know this one is a WHW piece.

It's a sort of mini-diorama.

It's a heavy field howitzer with crew, all as one piece.

It would make a great wargame piece.

This is a similar item.

It's a 37mm anti-tank gun with crew.  Both this and the howitzer have the same size figures and they are about 1/72nd scale.  I like them.

Luftwaffe HQ

 More of what I think are WWII era German WHW figures.
 

 This one is like Daedalus from Greek mythology.

Like the others he comes in black and red.

That's why I suspect it may be a game piece rather than an actual WHW item.

Same markings on the bottom.  I use them as monuments at a Luftwaffe headquarters.

Monumental Army Men

My friend Billy Hill sent me these figures.

They are about 30mm size.

They are a rather vague, generic set of WWII era Germans and Americans.

I don't recognize the figures or even something they may have been pirated from.

My plan is to mount them each on a plinth and use them as monuments.

Maybe in a city park.

 Or maybe in a cemetary.

 Or perhaps at some great public building.
 

Even inside a museum.

Or in the lobby of a government office building.

Shown with a 1/72nd scale plastic figure for size.  I plan on painting them to look like bronze, or granite.

Eagles

Another of the game pieces that might be WHW items.

It's a great eagle, it certainly looks like it is from the 1930s, and could be either German or even American in style.

I think it's way cool, myself.

The black one looks like it should be the GI Joe Maltese Falcon.

Same markings as before.

Looks almost like chess pieces.

An officer points towards the enemy as the last of the Volkssturm marches off to defend the crumbling Reich.

Figure Requests

Every so often I look at the figures sold on the market and I decide what I would like to have made in 1/72nd scale plastic.  This is my present list.  I try to select only figures that I believe would be commercially viable.

Cold War/ Cuban Missile Crisis 1963

Castro caps, berets, floppy hats, scruffy fatigues, cigar, Thompson, carbine.

Swimming trunks, with flippers, mask, snorkel, demolition charges, knife, small assault team with Thompson submachine guns, Colt .45 and M1 Carbines, Hard hat divers with hammer, wrench, knife, cutting torch, support crew with air pump, and talker.

WWII US Navy Landing or Raiding Party and Amphibious Landing Control

Helmets, and Sailor hats, Thompson submachine guns, Colt .45, Springfield rifles, demolitions charges, signal flags, ship to shore radio, Aldis lamp, Officers with maps and binoculars.

Interwar Adventures

Spies, secret police, espionage people

Fedora hats, trench coats, cameras, pistols, submachine guns, male and female, German, British, American, and Soviet.

Oilfield and Construction Workers

Hard hats, jump suits, shovels, picks, axes, transits and surveyors, big hammers and wrenches and jackhammers and toolboxes, wheelbarrows.

Scientists and Archeologists and Paleontologists and Hunters

Pith helmets, fedora hats, bare headed male and female, kneeling with brushes, dental picks, working with test tubes and chemical glasses, microscopes, cameras, guns.

Dog sleds, bolt action rifles, Eskimos, Artic tents, igloo, snow shoes, ice axes, mittens, Anoraks, jackets with fur around face.

BMC / Lido Re-Cast Figures

As I kid I got these figures from Lido and several other sources.  Recently, I have been buying used ones on eBay and at toy soldier shows.  Now BMC has obtained the molds and is re-casting them as brand new figures.

These are 60mm plastic army men.

In a forty figure bag, you get four each of the ten poses.

Figures like this are made for outdoor play.

There is a tiny about of flash on these figures, but nothing substantial.

They stand up perfectly on a smooth, flat, level surface.

But they work best outdoors in the dirt.
