Bugatti Type 59

Hot Wheels has a series of cars they call Elite 64.

They are super detailed and very well painted, with smooth surfaces on the castings.  If you look close at a lot of Hot Wheels cars you can see the surface under the paint is sometimes kind of rough.

These are packaged in a clam shell hanging container that has an insert behind the car to hold it in place when the clam shell is opened.  These cars can be a little more fragile than the average Hot Wheels due to the extra detail involved.

This is a Bugatti Type 59.  It can be found on the Mattel Creations website for $20.  https://creations.mattel.com/  Plus tax and postage of course.  You can get on their mailing list and they tell you about exclusive stuff and not just Hot Wheels but Barbies and other toys.

Recently they went on sale and I snagged two for $10 each.  Plus tax and postage of course.

It is probably the finest Hot Wheels car that I have ever seen in terms of detail, paint job, and overall quality.

So naturally, I plan to take it apart and repaint it.

Well, one of them, the other will stay in this beautiful blue color.  Note the very nice steering wheel.
