Dr. No Dragon

In the movie Dr. No with James Bond there is a dragon.

Dr. No has a sort of tank built in the shape of a dragon.

His plan is to keep local superstitious Caribbean people from snooping around on his island.

About 50 years ago Gilbert Toys made a couple James Bond sets.

The dragon has a secret, it shoots flame out the front, with a little help from rubber bands.

 I was lucky enough to get this from eBay this week, very nice toy, and in perfect condition.

Airport Fire Continues

 

Despite the disaster, the Luft-Hansa flag continues to fly proudly.

Companies help the fire fighters control the blaze.

Others stand by in case of parachute or infantry attack.

Many companies had to organize their own Volkssturm units.

Air service continues even in the midst of chaos.

Enjoy the war, the peace will be terrible they say.

Fire at the Airport

 

The ticket and baggage office was destroyed several months ago.

Doing business at an airport when the nation is at war is a problem.

Especially when the country is losing the war.

Fire trucks try and fight the fires but there is too much fire and too few firetrucks.

Employees man the AA guns in case the planes come back.

Some also help to fight the fires.

JagdPanther vs M36 Tank Destroyer

One Jagdpanther, three M36 tank destroyers.

One on one at each end of a pool table...

flat, smooth, level surface with no obstructions...

that Jagdpanther will win every time.

But the real world is not flat, smooth, or level.

And so the Jagdpanther did not win every time.
