New item at Dollar Tree recently.

Fifty cents for a pair of vehicles is pretty cheap, low enough to use for parts even.

I don't know what they call this type of dump truck but the bucket is in the front and the drivers compartment at the rear.

Sturdy little vehicle.

 I am sure there is a specialist use for these but I don't know what it is, maybe in mines?

It has a big trailer hitch.

Dumper dumps forward.

Dirty Business

A new Matchbox truck.

Not the most delicate of vehicles but necessary.

Use these on the wargame table and reduce instances of cholera and dysentery for your army.

The model itself certainly could use some additional paint detailing.

The cargo is a bit short when placed on the ground.  I may mount them on a little base.

 Note the passenger side of the truck has a different name than the driver side. 

 This is what the packages says, I don't know if this is a common error or not.

Renault FT

The famous Renault FT tank.

Set the design for most tanks to come, fully rotating turret, engine in the back, and low tracks.

Two man crew one machine gun or small, usually 37mm, cannon.

Developed by the French in World War One but used in both World Wars.

US Army had hundreds of them in World War One and kept in service until 1932 or so.

The big wheels are just for the toy, the real ones ran on the tracks.

What?

In the days before radar how do you know the planes are coming?

With a sound detector.

Wear headphones connected to big horns or dishes to gather the sound.

And dial the direction using little wheels so you can give the anti-aircraft guns height and direction.

Unique slush cast toy.  And yes they really did do this.
