West Coaster, MPC Finds

Just like the Army, hurry up and wait. MPC ring hand figures I picked up at the West Coaster show.

Often specialized uniforms when worn out of context just look funny. As a rescue worker he looks just right in the red fatigure uniform.

This guy always reminded me of a scientist, and the military / industrial complex certainly uses plenty of scientific know-how to make new weapons.

While I think this guy may have started life as a cowboy with those tall boots, he looks pretty good as an Air Force Officer in light blue.

Convoy

The US Army practices constantly.

Trucks can be unreliable and so they have to constantly test trucks and make improvement.

Still, wheeled vehicles are more reliable than tracked vehicles.

Powerful trucks are needed to tow the massive guns in use by the modern army.

Other large cannons can be mounted on trucks directly and eliminate the trailer.

Inter War US Army

In the mid to late 1930's the US Army developed many new vehicles that did not see series production.

They experimented with tanks and armored cars and artillery that were the fore runners of those used in World War Two.

The infantry did not look different from the Great War, but the M-1 rifle was adopted years before for WWII started but it took a long time before they were fielded in great numbers.

Electrical mechanical computers were used for fire direction. Trucks like this provided electrical generation that was highly mobile.

Many techniques were used to provide mobile artillery support, both wheeled and tracked.

Camo Trucks

In the Great War many US vehicles wore different shades of camoflague.

These vehicles are painted tan, and green & tan and green.

They blend in well with the road and forest.

Tanks and armored cars and trucks and artillery and troops.
