Schneider Gun

Schneider 75mm gun.
Guns like this were sold all over the world.
I only got one from BUM I think, it was in a collection I got.
I decided to paint it up as a US Army, militia gun.
It is not a great model, but it painted up okay.
I used the colors popular for US Army weapons at the end of the 1800's.
It looks a lot like most WWI era guns.
As far as I know, it was never used by the US Army.
However, civilians, and local militas could purchase their own.

Were red wheels the norm at this time? Spanish American War?

Maybe. Toy artillery of that era often had red wheels, US Army wagons in the American Civil War sometimes had red wheels. The branch color for artillery is red. Since it is a local militia unit they were not subject to US Army regulations unless they were Federalized. I also have no evidence the Schneider gun was sold in the US, but it could have been. So mostly speculative, but possible, but unlikely. Mostly.

Oooh, I like the idea of red wheels! I'll have to repaint some of my ACW wagons.
