70 Today

When my little brother was born in 1958, I got my first army men, I was three.  Today is my 70th birthday.  I am blessed with a great wife, a wonderful daughter, and a fantastic home.  I have been retired for 8 years and it's great.  I have lots of time to spend time at home with my wife, dog and the army men.

I don't hunt, fish, sail boats, or travel.  I have done all that stuff, and now I love staying home.  We have spent as many as 23 days home alone without having to go anywhere.  It's great.  I have been posting on this blog every day since 2008.  I have over 25,000 photos of my collection and my plan is to keep going for years to come.

Thank you for reading my blog, enjoying the photos and making comments.  I am still buying army men, and my beloved wife and darling daughter got me more for my birthday.  I am so blessed to have such a great life, living here in rural Kentucky; our neighbors are cattle, we get rabbits, foxes, coyotes, raccoons, squirrels, and all sorts of critters here.

The blog as been stuck at about 200 views per day for a couple years.  It would be great to get those numbers up a little.  So if you can sometimes put a comment at the end of the blog, or mention the blog to a friend, that would be helpful.

Thanks for reading and may God bless you all.

  1. Happy Birthday Mike!
You have a very interesting blog indeed, and I visit it regularly. I'm also 'advertising' for it, by adding a link to it on my own blog. I usually don't have so many visits to my own blog, but recently the numbers of hits has suddenly increased. This seems to be a thing amongst more bloggers, and perhaps a result of AI spiders crawling the web.
Great blog. I'm looking forward to follow your posts.
