Fidelis Models where I have gotten models for over 25 years now has an eBay store.
My friend Randy owns Fidelis and before I retired and moved to Kentucky we used to wargame together almost weekly for over 20 years. Now he is still working and I am playing with the army men full time.
His website https://fidelismodels.com/ is primarily 1/87scale and similar small scale items. His eBay store will likely have some of them in the future but for now he is selling military models that don't fit that category.
The first offerings on the eBay store are Dragon Models 1/6th scale World War Two era figures. I have several of these exact figures and they are wonderful. The detail is fantastic, the figures are very poseable and each figure has a unique head and face sculpt. While I love my G.I. Joe figures these Dragon Figures are amazing.
Fidelis Models have also launched a new newsletter, and you can subscribe for free on their website.
I'm familiar with Fidelis Models due to being specialists in military models in H0 scale, which is the scale (one of them) i'm into when coming to model railroads.
ReplyDeleteI saw the shop was 'empty' at the present, but the link showed an 1/6 scale figure. Was the box labeled 'Steiner'? When I forst saw this figure by Dragon it made me think 'Steiner'.
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_dkr=1&iconV2Request=true&_blrs=recall_filtering&_ssn=fidelis_models&store_name=fidelismodels&_oac=1 The shop has 8 different Dragon Models figures as of last night. One of them is "Steiner" and is similar to that character in the movie Cross of Iron. I have that figure, I got it many years ago and it is very well done. He is a 1/6th scale figure, the same scale as GI Joe. Thanks for reading and commenting Roger.
ReplyDeleteThe first time this figure appeared in the Dragon sortiment was in 1993 when it was released in a box of 4 miniatures in 1:35 scale. The box was labeled "Iron Cross" and I thought the NCO had clearly references to Feldwebel Rolf Steiner from the move "Cross of Iron". The other figures in the box didn't match up with the other characters from the movie though. I don't think Dragon released 1/6 scale figures until 1999 however, and I don't know when the 'Steiner' figure was released in this scale. The 'Boxart' was the same as in 1993 and the 1:35 scale box however.
ReplyDelete...The very same figure was released as a plastic kit in 1:16 scale by Dragon in 1995. Then it was not branded as "Steiner", but simply as "Wehrmacht Unteroffizier Eastern Front 1943.
DeleteThere are a number of various 1/6th scale figures that are very similar to TV show and movie characters but not specifically that individual.
ReplyDeleteI have the Sergeant and the Lieutenant in 1/6th scale and they are similar to the characters in Combat TV show.
