House

The Kevin McCallister house from Home Alone.
It is a Funko Pop Town building.
Judging from the size of the door it is just about HO 1/87 scale and would work fine for 15mm.
It is a very typical American home, houses like this are all over the country and could be as much as 100 years old or more, or even brand new.
Funko Pop Town makes 45 buildings, most from movies, or amusement parks.
I have actually been to 5 of them.
They are perfect right out of the box, very durable and no need to assemble or paint them.

  1. Funko Pop are popular in Norway, but you can usually just get the figures, not buildings. What other buildings can you get in close to H0-scale?
Signature buildings in H0 are nice, and I know there have been kits for Addams Family, Munster Family, Simpson and Amityville Horror houses as well as Bates Motel. For the Scandinavian market there was even a kit for Pippi Longstocking's house.

  2. I have Scooby Doo Haunted Mansion, Peter Venkman with Firehouse, Beetlejuice with Dante's Inferno Room, Batman with Hall of Justice, Demonic Penneywise & Funhouse, Alfred Pennyworth and Wayne Manor, Doc with Clock Tower, Michael Meyers with Meyers House, Space Mountain with Mickey Mouse, Mirabel with Casita, Uncle Fester with Addams Family House, Kevin with McCallister Home.

  3. Hall of Justice, Space Mountain, are very small. Space Mountain would likely be three feet across in HO scale. Hall of Justice would also be very big. But I just use them as representational. I actually built up the base of Space Mountain so it looked better with HO figures. Micheal Meyers House is about 28mm so it is a bit large. Casita is probably closer to 1/100th scale. Since I am building a whole city, the fact that a few buildings are a bit small or a little large is not really a concern to me.

  4. Interesting. I wounder why houses from horror movies are that often modeled?

  5. Being small they lend themselves to model making. Horror is a large and popular movie genre.
