A friend of mine sent this toy armored car to me. He buys a lot of army men on eBay and often when buying collections you get a few vehicles that are unneeded. So he sends them to me sometimes. Thanks Clarence!
I think it is a British armored car but not a very good likeness.
Shown here with a WWII German figure in 1/72nd scale from Odemars.
Figure has had his arm modified so the pistol is firing ahead.

You should be able to make something pretty cool out of that; but first you need some wheels, or maybe some surplus Roco minitank tracks - but I would definitely replace the gun with something cooler looking; then paint it, give it some decals, and add some miscellaneous parts like a machine gun, some fuel or water cans, etc.
ReplyDeleteI used to love converting pieces of plastic junk into reasonable facsimiles of armored vehicles when I was a kid; they constituted my "invader force"
I have an idea I have a couple of those kicking around somewhere - with their wheels, too. I've never been sure what to do with them.
ReplyDeleteYes, Banzai55 the wheels gotta go for sure. The gun I am still pondering but I may have an idea for that too. This vehicle is serving as a test bed for my Adventure Team project so it may be re-done a couple times as I test different concepts. I did consider tracks but I think for Adventure Team the speed and ease of maintenance of wheels is better.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments Banzai.

I never saw this vehicle before my friend Clarence gave it to me Archduke. I have several vehicles that are too good to throw away but not good enough to use, this was one of them. So I figure give it to the Adventure Team and the fact there is only one is no longer an issue and the fact it looks strange becomes a feature rather than a bug.
