I put Roco into Simple Green to soak off the paint.
My record is fourteen layers that I could identify on one vehicle.
There is often a lime colored or gold colored layer.
This JagdTiger had at least five layers.
It looked like it had been painted with a roller. The paint was really thick.
14 layers! Wow - it must have been more paint than model! As to the layers of gold on old models and figures, it amazes me how often I find it on stuff I am stripping. It would seem that gold is a popular choice of colour for some painters - regardless of subject!
ReplyDeleteWhat about the glue, does it not melt?
ReplyDeleteUncle Brian, I have been told some people use gold as a primer because it is cheap and covers well. Who knew?

shintokamikaze, the glue will usually hold up okay, unless it's white glue.
