Askri Post WWI
Some Askari soldiers continued to serve Germany after WWI. This WWI African veterans organization includes at least one former Askari.
A monument to the Askari troops.
A former Askri operating with a Freikorps in 1919.
Another view of the WWI Colonial veterans including an Askari. Note the swastika flags. I am putting together a unit of these guys for my Volksstrum troops.
Some amazing photos there, Mike. The last one is particularly amazing with the swastikas hanging from the buildings above them!
ReplyDeletePeople don't realize how diverse the WWII German military was, they had all kinds of people serving.
