Twin Tug

I got a Twin HE-111 to tow my Gigant glider. These gliders were so huge that they needed to take to medium bombers and stick them together to make a very large plane, they added an extra engine too.

The five engines under construction in 1/72nd scale.

These are the two pilots. They go inside a very clear nose.

These are the paints I used to paint the pilots and inside of the cockpits.

The middle section of the wing is huge. Together like this, the wings look like a giant flying wing. The kit is 1/72nd scale and made by Italeri.

I read about those Heinkels in my planes of the 3rd reich book, and the main problem with them was they barely got the Gigant off the ground.
    (talk about a "target")

The LUftwaffe also tried mulitple aircraft (think they were Ju88s), and THAT problem was trying to "sync" the planes to they pulled at the SAME rate of speed...

Germany was a real mix of ideas...some were great, while others were just plain weird.

  2. Yes, they even mounted rocket pods on the underwings. Eventually they just made a powered version.
