Getting ready to paint an Adventure Team submarine.
Primer painting first. I got this sub and several others at a dollar store 20 years ago. My intention was it us it for Disneyland. Since I got more than I needed for that project this one got surplussed.
Since the sub model is probably 1/600 scale I needed to convert it to a 1/72nd scale model and so I added two hatches on the rear deck. They are left overs from Paul Heiser Sherman tanks. I think they make great submarine hatches.
The intention is to primer it with white primer, then paint it yellow, and then gloss coat it and add Adventure Team decals.
Here are some Strelets US Navy figures. My plan is the submarine will be one of those that is use for clandestine operations, and has wheels on the bottom so they can wire tap undersea cables, or cut or repair them.
It's also large enough to drop off a few Adventure Team members to perform commando and spy operations.
Not a bad investment for a dollar.
After these photo were taken I sprayed on the yellow and it crinkled. So now I am stripping off paint and trying again. Stay tuned. I suspect the primer was not fully dry the humidity or temperature were not optimum for spray painting.
