Pellucidar Transport Company

This is a GI Joe Mole.

Its designed for one 3 1/2 inch tall GI Joe figure, but you gotta look past that and see it as a huge vehicle for little men.

My plan is to glue the windows shut and paint them over.

Then it becomes a big mole machine.

Mole machines are a way to take men and even Automatons into realms of the underworld.

All sorts of monsters may lurk there and this is how you get there.

Mole machines have been popular science fiction devices for at least 100 years. Now I got one too!

Rover

The cartoon Planet 51 had this little lunar rover type vehicle in it.

My local Dollar Tree had some of these rovers in it too.

They are probably about 1/32nd scale but I like them for 1/72nd scale figures.

My plan is to repaint them and make them into some kind of laser or lightening bolt thrower vehicle.

Rovers like this can explore many strange worlds, this is just one of them.

Machine

This is a T-1 from the movie Terminator Salvation.

I got a couple of them at Toys R US recently.

While no scale is given they look great with these 1/72nd scale Italeri US Army WWII soldiers.

They look even scarier with these PAeL Automatons with them.

I got two of these guys and I think it has a lot of possibilities for wargames as bot a good and bad guy machine.

Sci Fi Machines

This is one of my Christmas presents, a killing machine from Terminator. At a time in the distant, dark future these machines prowl the Earth looking for humans to kill.

The humans appear to it's sensors in various bright colors depending on the heat they generate.

Operating in pairs these machines are nearly impossible to destroy, but the humans fight valiantly to prevent the destruction of their base.

These tracked monsters fire their electric rotating cannons at the humans.

Two giant monster killing machines loom out of the darkness.

Neutrals

I just finished reading this book, Neither Friend Nor Foe, the European Neutrals in World War II by Jerrold M. Packard. It tells the story of Spain, Protugal, Swedon, Switzerland and Ireland during World War Two.

The author goes into great detail on each nation and explains why they declared themselved neutral and how they were able to stay neutral during the war.

There are no photos but some very interesting wargame secenarios. All of these countries worried at one time or another that the Germans or British or Americans or even the Soviet Union were about to invade them. Imagine Swiss vs USSR or a German invasion of Ireland, or perhaps Finns and Germans invade Swedon. Good book, a bit dry, but filled with stuff I never knew.

Robots and Lizards

I got this little Komodo dragon from the Secret Saturdays collection at Big Lots for $1.50.

Later, I found this bigger one for the same price, his legs, tail and head move.

You can see the size difference between them.

It looks like the mother of all dragons when it has a bunch of young ones placed around it.

Only US Army troops and PAeL Automatons would be enough to fend off an attack by these!

Scorpion Man Becomes Hu Man

While shopping at Big Lots recently I found Secret Saturday toys on sale for $1.50 each.
This is much cheaper than they were at other stores, and although you only get one or three toys, compared to most wargame products, particularly metal, they are an excellent value.

I pulled off the human part of the scorpion man and made this figure from a set of civilians for train sets.

This guy too, from a Dapol set.

Three very different figures made from the same upper and different lower bodies. I still have three more to do before I am done.

PAeL

The grease gunners again.

Painted Automation. Note the split foot and the decal of the insignia on the chest. They always wear the US Army helmet.

This guy makes a good sentry, Automation at attention on parade, or can have separate guns slipped into his hands or mortar bombs.
